I am very excited to announce that my teacher, Maharishi Vyasananda Thom Knoles, is returning to the Bay Area after being away almost 5 years. Thom has taught over 35,000 people to meditate around the world since the 1960’s, while raising 8 children. And, notably, he is the only householder (non-celibate) to be inducted into the sacred Saraswati Order of India in 5000 years. He is a maharishi (or pre-eminent master-teacher) of meditation and a celebrated leader of cognitive sciences, the relationship between quantum physics and human consciousness, and the Veda (the ancient body of knowledge from which yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda are derived).
I first learned to meditate from Thom in 2009. At the time, I went to an intro talk with no intention of doing the course, but there was something about Thom I recognized as extraordinary and impressive. Please join myself and my colleague, James Brown, for this rare opportunity to learn from the Master. There is a program of events for existing meditators, as well some open to the public.
While Thom is not teaching a course this visit, I will be teaching a course at the end of August and the end of September and my colleague James will be teaching one in September as part of the week’s events. If interested in learning to meditate after attending an Intro Talk with Thom, you are welcome to learn with James or myself. The big event will be a day-long retreat in San Anselmo from 9:30am - 4:30pm on September 9 entitled Communication: The Art of Shared Experience. There are 20 spots available (actually only 10 are left) for this intimate, immersive knowledge retreat. Take advantage of this rare opportunity to enjoy an extra-strength boost in consciousness and reserve your spot today. Thom will be hosting a Group Meditations and Vedic Knowledge Meetings on September 7 and 15. The topics will be The Mechanics of Effortlessness and The Truth About Karma. These events are open to all Vedic Meditators and I hope you can join us. He will also be hosting three events open to the public: How to Cultivate a Daily Meditation Practice on September 10 in SF and two Vedic Meditation Intro Talks on September 8 in SF, September 9 in San Anselmo.
Thom will also be offering private consultations. I had one of these a couple years ago that literally changed the course of my life. Write me if interested.
And if you haven't learned yet but would like to come to some of the main events, before Thom comes I'm giving an intro talk on August 23 at the Life Studio in Sausalito, and teaching a Vedic Meditation Course August 27-30. Contact me to RSVP or if you have any questions.
